COLOMBIA BEST CUP 2018

In late September 2018 our head roaster and green buyer Elika travelled to Pasto, Colombia, to take part in the judging of Cafe Imports’ Colombia Best Cup competition. The motivation for this competition is about quality discovery; small producers submit lots of coffee to be scored by an international jury, ranked in order from 1 to 30, with the top 15 lots being sold live at auction. This is a way of connecting with new producers and rewarding them for producing high quality coffee - in essence working as an incentive for producers to strive to produce high quality coffee with a connection to a market willing to pay high prices for their coffee. Elika won two gorgeous lots at auction and also secured a beautiful regional select, which are now on offer!
